Academic Affairs
The Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost oversees the faculty and curriculum of Southern Oregon University. Academic programs from the College of Arts and Sciences, School of Business, and School of Education are supervised by the Provost in collaboration with the Associate Provost and the Faculty Senate.
Interim Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost Edwin Battistella joined SOU in July, 2000. He is a Professor of English and Writing, and was Dean of the School of Arts and Letters from 2000-2006. He has held teaching and administartive positions at Wayne State College (Nebraska) and the University of Alabama in Birmingham. He earned his PhD in linguistics from the City University of New York.
