2005-06 CTLA Goals and Objectives
Goal 1: We will create opportunities that engage faculty, staff, departments and programs in a continuous improvement process.
Objective 1: Provide professional development opportunities that foster teaching effectiveness
Objective 2: Provide resources to support faculty and staff specific needs
Objective 3: Assist faculty and staff to develop and examine the effectiveness of assessment tools
Goal 2: We will develop opportunities for cross campus, cross-role collaboration
Objective 1: Establish collaborative learning communities for faculty and staff
Objective 2: Promote mentoring partnerships
Objective 3: Create supportive links between the many different constituencies on campus currently providing professional development assistance to faculty and staff
Objective 4: Identify expertise and enhance networking across campus
Goal 3: We will promote the professionalism of teaching
Objective 1: Provide information to support faculty publishing
Objective 2: Encourage and coach faculty and staff engaged in scholarship
Objective 3: Model and encourage use of the critical inquiry process in problem solving and professional development activities
Goal 4: We will actively promote recognition excellence in teaching
Objective 1: Investigate current methods of rewarding and applauding teaching excellence on the SOU campus
Objective 2: Design appropriate recognition methods and events
Objective 3: Garner administrative support for the formal recognition of excellence in teaching
Objective 4: Involve on-campus experts in providing professional development
Goal 5: We will develop institutional, regional, and international recognition of the Center's role in promoting teaching as an intellectual and scholarly activity
Objective 1: Create a sustainable budget model
Objective 2: Seek grant opportunities targeted to the goals and mission of the Center
Objective 3: Develop and maintain a comprehensive web site
