When and where is commencement?
Commencement 2008 will be held on Saturday, June 14, at the Mountain Arena. Gates open at 7:00 a.m. and the procession will begin at 8:45 a.m. The ceremony starts at 9:00 a.m. and will conclude by 11:00 a.m.
What kind of seating is available for guests?
General seating in the grandstands and bleachers on both sides of the arena is available on a first-come basis. Special seating areas will be available for elderly guests or those with disabilities. This seating is available on a first-come basis and limited to one escort per guest.
Where is the best place to park?
The best place to park is on the SOU campus in one of the two main parking lots off of Mountain Avenue. Shuttle service will be provided from Mountain Avenue to the Mountain Arena and will run every 15 minutes.
How do I order my cap and gown, announcements, and class ring?
The SOU Bookstore provides the information and merchandise you'll need for graduation. They will hold their annual Graduation Fair on Tuesday, April 15, and Wednesday April 16, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the SOU Stevenson Union.
Are tickets needed for guests to attend the commencement ceremony?
Guests do NOT need tickets, but graduates should inform their guests that parking and seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Plan ahead and arrive early!
