Art students at Southern Oregon University have the opportunity to work and study in the new Center for the Visual Arts (CVA). The CVA is an eleven and a half million dollar, 66,000 square foot complex built with matching funds from the community and consists of four new, renovated, or existing buildings: the Art Building, the Marion Ady Building, the Schneider Museum of Art, and the DeBoer Sculpture Building. The CVA’s 300,000 pounds of steel and 290 windows (including skylights and doors) creates a contemporary atmosphere, but more important, plenty of natural light in which students are able to work. The new CVA is a wonderful addition to the already thriving art community in Ashland, Oregon.
